Since the winter season is almost here, I think it’s about time for me to get off my lazy ass and start looking at what’s coming out. This is more of a list to help remind myself, since I don’t even know the stories of half of the show’s coming out, and am relying on character designs to make a choice. Yes, I know I’m shallow. A lot of this also depends on fansub releases to see if I watch anything.

First up, the new Rozen Maiden Ouverture OVA. Of course I’m gonna watch this. More delicious Gin-sama goodness is always a plus. Comes out Dec. 22.

Strike Witches is the second of the recent mecha-musume girls OVA’s, after Sky Girls. This one is a bit more faithful to the concept, seeing as how the girls actually come with WWII plane parts. The character designs look nice, but a little too similiar. The mecha parts aren’t as…extravagant as I’d like, but I’ll still look into this. Comes out Jan 1.

Next is Saint October, a show apparenlty about three colorful goth-loli’s solving crime with swords, arrows, and nun-chucks. The girls are very cute, and remind me a lot of Rozen Maiden. Also produced by Konami, so it probably won’t be that bad. Comes out Jan. 4.

Moving on now to Les Miserables: Shoujo Cosette. I’m wary of the idea of Les Miserables being turned into a shoujo anime. However, I’m a sucker for anime versions of classic tales (see: Gankutsuou). We’ll see how good this adaptation will end up. Comes out Jan. 7.

I loved SHUFFLE, so of course I’m going to check out SHUFFLE! MEMORIES. This new series is supposedly a mixture of new and old material instead of a second season. Hopefully they’ll change the ending. Sia never gets enough love and deserves to have her Rin. Green-haired girls can just go home! Comes out Jan. 7.

Jesus Christ, those are the cutest loli’s I have ever seen. Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight is some kind of love romance set in school in the future, or some shit like that. Who cares though! Look at how cute they are! This is also made by ufotable, so let’s pray to God this is more Futakoi Alternative awesome than Coyote Ragtime Show crappiness. The cuteness begins Jan. 7.

Project BLUE Chikyu SOS looks like an epic science fiction tale, with thousands of ufo’s descending on a city in the promo pic. The designs are kind of bland (reminds me of Fantastic Children), but the idea of a good science fiction tale makes me giddy. Haven’t seen one of those in a long time. Begins Jan. 9.

Hidamari Sketch is another case of infection by uber-cute loli’s. The story is about slice-of-life stuff and artists, but again that doesn’t really matter as long as the girl’s are cute. Man, I’m getting as bad as Impz. I jest, I jest. I’m not that bad yet. Begins Jan. 11.

Venus Versus Virus has three things going for it. One, one of the girls wears an eyepatch. Eyepatch’s are fucking hot accesories. Two, yuri. Can’t go wrong there. Three, Seven Sea’s recently licensed the manga for this, and I want to see what it’s like before I decide to buy the official release. Comes out Jan. 11.

I loved Densha Otoko, so now that the once fake series, Getsumen Toheiki Mina, is getting it’s own show, I have to watch. Gonzo’s handling it, which can either be a yeh or neh. Time will tell (literally if their budget goes to hell). Also, if this doesn’t have Twilight as the OP it will already FAIL. Comes out Jan. 13.

Next is the new GR-Giant Robo series. I recently ordered the entire Giant Robo series (for 12 bucks!) and if I like that I’ll definately watch this. I’ll probably like this though, as it’s suppose to be filled with MANLY and HOT-BLOOD. Excellent. Begins Jan. 19.

Sky Girls is getting a full anime series, or at least I think so. There’s some confustion there. However, if one episode of loli’s in the sky was good, then a full series is gonna be awesome. Whatever this is, it begins sometime in January.

Gainax’s last super robot series, Diebuste, was great. So of course I’m going to check out their new super robot show, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann. It’s about a world where everyone lives underground, and a couple of kids try to break through to the surface. When they do however, they release a rampaging robot, which is where the super robot comes in I guess. Extra winnage for the busty girl carrying sniper gun. Begins sometime in January.

Lately I’ve been craving a fanservice show, just for fun. Hopefully Ikkitousen Dragon Destiny will fit this bill fine. I’ve never seen the original Ikkitousen, but this is a remake instead of a new season, so I shouldn’t be lost. Begins in Febuary.

Finally, another super robot show, this one REIDEEN from Production I.G. Not much information right now, but the promo pic looks epic, so I’ll definately check it out. Begins at the end of the season, sometime in March.

I predict I’ll drop 3/4’s of this list three weeks in, justl like the Fall.
