Densha Otoko Novel Licensed
Looks like after all the manga and the movie, the Densha Otoko novel will be coming to the U.S. News via MangaCast’s link of a Publishers Weekly article on basilisk, where Dallas Middaugh, head of Del Rey, say’s they plan to release the novel this April. Finally, we’ll get the purest form of this internet love story, as instead of being a fictional account of Train Man’s wooing of Hermes, it is the entire recorded thread from 2ch. This means there’ll be tons of ACSII art, which we’ll be cool to see. That stuff is pretty damn creative. I think it will be kind of hard to read a book length BBS thread, but I’m sure Del Rey will translate it easily. I wonder how many in-jokes they’ll have to deal with? Now, who wants to bet on how much longer till the tv drama is licensed?
