Isn’t it sad Shirley? You finally confessed your love to Lulu, only to find out he was Zero, be kidnapped by an insane C.C. fanboy, and have your memory wiped. At least your still alive unlike other unfortunate heroines. So now I guess this ” mini-Shirley ” arc is over, serving mainly to introduce Mao as the mid-boss and probably get rid of Shirley. I doubt we’ll see her in the main plot anymore. ” Were fighting an international war of terror against Brittania! There’s no time for schoolyard romances! ” is probably the staff’s idea behind this. Oh well, I never really liked her anyways. Now we can get more C.C. kicking ass Jackie Chan style, as seen from the preview.

Why do you need a hat smaller than your head?!

Mao’s a pretty interesting villian, seeing as how he’s more obsessive stalker than the megalomaniac overlord that is Lelouch’s father. Seeing him press his face against the glass and yell how pretty C.C. looked in that dress was both pathetic and cute at the same time. On the topic of C.C.’s dress, good god, was that thing ugly! It would of been alright if it wasn’t for the pigtails and terrible hat. It was just too weird. She needs to stop taking fashion advice from Lelouch and his gothic-lolita tendencies. She deserves something a bit more stylish. Hopefully, we’ll learn more about why C.C. gives people geass and what it’s for next episode. Presumably, it has something to do with that ancient civilization that keeps popping up.

Impure thoughts aren’t allowed!

On other fronts, I liked how Nina wants to meet Euphemia now, clearly to yuri-rape her. Millay saying that people with impure thoughts wouldn’t be able to meet her really ruined Nina’s plans. Suzaku is still annoying, but I found it interesting how Cecil said he has an abnormal reaction in battle ie. it looks like he’s obsessed with killing people in battle. What if Suzaku became a ” reform through violence is necessary ” kind of person? Final battle between power-obsessed Suzaku and revenge-obsessed Lelouch? Hopefully, by then Lelouch will have his own mecha, and it better be named Mordred!…I need to stop making predictions for Code Geass. And Ougi probably knows Zero’s identity now, but he’s too much of a wimp to act on it. Viletta is still hot, even while shot, especially with her hair down.

Oh great, just what we need: Jesus Suzaku and his strike freedom Lancelot.

On the new OP, at first I thought is sucked, but after listening to it a few times it’s grown on me. I still think some of the parts don’t sync well, but the new scenes are great; the one with Viletta’s hair flowing and the one with the shadow passing over Nunally really standing out. The ED is awesome, and the new pictures are great. I still prefer this OP though:

If anybody has the full version of this song, not the title but the actual song, then I would love them forever. It’s proving very difficult to find it at all.

Diebuster Licensed

According to this thread at the AnimeonDVD forums, Diebuster has been licensed, with a first volume release in April. The amazing thing about this is that Newtype (the somewhat-mediocre american version) reported this before everyone else. In what kind of universe does a monthly magazine beat the collective might of the internet? Anyways, Diebuster is awesome and it will be great to see it in full DVD quality. The only bad thing is it looks it will be the two-episodes a disk deal instead of all at once like the Gunbuster release. I’ll be waiting for a boxset before I pick this up.
