Just no. There is a huge difference- Hayate puts references within a comedic framework so that they’re funny, whereas Lucky Star just seemingly puts an endless stream of references in front of the viewer and expects the viewer to laugh, which of course, a lot of us aren’t doing.

Both their comedy is roughly the same, self-referential and for otaku, but Hayate kind of takes it from a romance/harem comedy perspective, while Lucky Stars is more slice-of-life. It's really just personal opinion, I guess.
