The always incompetent ZECTroopers. Despite being the so-called first wave of defense against any Worm attack, they are completely ineffectual at hurting worms at all. All they do is shoot at them with their machine guns before becoming mass canon fodder. There’s only been one time so far a trooper has killed a worm and that was when Kagami stabbed one with his foldout knife thing, and that had more to do with Kagami being powered by hot blood and guts. It’s like seeing those marines fight the insects in the starship troopers movie. You got FTL ships, why are you using machine guns that don’t do any damage? Why are they trusting these guys to fight anything? Wonder how high the turnover rate is.

So it’s obvious now I’m slowly making my way through Kamen Rider Kabuto. Den-O was my first Rider show, and obviously it’s a rather lighter fare. It can be funny and weird as hell, but it’s more the characters than the plot that is interesting. And then Kabuto is completely different. It’s all dark and people are dying everywhere. There’s secret organizations and people talking in the shadows. Tendou is a complete 180 from Ryutarou, being over-confident and arrogant to Ryutarou’s patheticness. Hiyori is also completely different from Hana. They’re both tsundere, but Hiyori is just quite while Hana is all violent. The only thing I don’t like is that the worm are prettying boring enemies. At least the imagins have personality and style. Kagami still supplies with the outrageous reactions, though. Let’s see how long it takes me to get through a fifty episode series (considering I left off Ideon at episode12).
