Loved the ending. Hayami being killed was a controversial move, but I think they pulled it off nice enough.

Also, Hamaji is the greatest trap character ever. Girly enough to fool ANYONE of his gender, but GAR enough to procreate with his best friend. Nice one

I like deus ex machina endings for some reason. I mean, Mai HiME is my favorite show.

So yeah, hence why I loved the ending of H2O, hehe.

I’m atheist myself, and so this was the closest thing I unintentionally did to celebrating Easter yesterday, but thinking of H2O in a slightly religious manner puts all sorts of interesting spin on the situation, and gives it surprising depth. The biggest one is of course the monologue that I think Otoha spits out about God being with a man walking along the beach, and carrying him in times of crisis (why sometimes there are two sets, sometimes one set of footprints in the sand), a message that seems to apply to Hayami and Takuma first and foremost, although Otoha could be spun in there as well. Hayami was my favorite for long before “a train hit her.” Indeed, trains do make you realize who you like most. I was particularly angry after that happened; her resurrection at least kept me from throwing rocks at the writers. But then I get into the whole physical impossibility of resurrection, even with all the weirdness that has happened in the series so far.

Oh well, I suppose. Hayami lives, so I should be happy. But really… all the emotion was kinda gone. Like you said, no one seemed to mourn her after the train accident. And Takuma is just like “Oh you’re back” when she appears again. Wouldn’t several years of absence result in a little bit more emotion?

Anyway, yes. Much droolage for Yukiji.
