The first episode was really fast and really crazy. It almost confused me more than the time I watched the first episode of Code Geass (RAW), and keep in mind that i watched this subbed.

Living Phone = WTF...how do charge it?

I thought it was cool that this has 3 male seiyu that I like/am familiar with
-Yuuichi Nakamura (he's really good in his role)
-Hiroshi Kamiya
-Jun Fukuyama

@Odda C.: thank you for the valkyrie reminder. Don't want to commit another Macross faux pas.

Like Odda, I rather liked the satisfyingly meaty action sequence of the deculture edition. But being able to watch both is nice. Ranka's definitely ahead right now, but I'm sure Sheryl will pull something out of the bag to counter her nyan-nyan-fu - otherwise the love triangle will be rather unexciting.

Personally, I perfered the deculture edition (epic dogfight, ftw!), however I did appreciate the extra characterization. Also, this isn't the Robotech bastardization: we say Valkyries, not Veritechs. n.n

This Macross looks promising, unless Kawamori throws another douche like Nekki Basara into the mix to take it down the toilet. Made that mistake once, don't need to do it again. Min-mei is one thing, a inconsiderate wanker with a mohawk and dorky glasses is another.
