I've only been watching the new series, and for all its hits and misses I think it still manages to frighten with the daleks. Must be the new snazzy CG.

Welcome back, and good luck with the tree planting. A few years ago my parents rented the first episodes of the first Doctor Who, and I must say I was underwhelmed (unthreatening Dalek is unthreatening). My parents weren't underwhelmed though, which just goes to show how powerful nostalgia can be.

HI

Tokyopop does hate it's light novels. Heh I've actually noticed some things in their translations that annoy me even. You pointing out what they did to Aria also proves a point.

Ugh....I just finished Akagi (no kidding I finished it a minute before now). And though I didn't understand Mahjong, I still managed to find some interesting nature in it. I guess I prefer Kaiji. But really the themes of both series are really fun and interesting.
