Impressions: Slayers Revolution, Sekirei
Slayers Revolution
Let it first be said that I have never seen an episode, special, or movie of Slayers in my life. However, I think I want to now. Slayers Revolution does a good job of introducing all the characters to people like me so we’re not completely lost. I really like this episode a lot. It’s comedy was spot on and the characters all had real life to them. Particularly have to commend the VA for Lina Inverse. She does a really great job bringing out her personality. The OP by Hayashibara Megumi is also quite nice. A lot of the feel of this show reminds me of stuff from the nineties, which can only mean good stuff as far as I’m concerned (I really should have been born a decade earlier).
Sekirei
Why am I watching this exactly? Oh, right. Tits. This episode really didn’t do anything for me. Halfway through I was so bored I debated just closing the video and forgetting it, but I stuck through and it got somewhat more interesting. I have no idea how far I’ll continue watching this (based on my previous behavior - not very long), but I’ll see just how long I can stomach it. Who knows, it may surprise me in some way.
Where Slayers seems funny to watch (I also never watched the older series or movies) Sekirei just isn’t my thing. I have just with Kanokon a fanservice show after me plus I know the Sekirei Manga (not bad) so I know what’ll happen anyways. Finaly there isn’t so much exciting about Sekirei like Claymore for example (as for Claymore I watched the anime).
I think there are 3 other shows I wanted to take a look, but that’s all for the summer season, somehow everything at or below standard.

*sigh* I’m not going to be able to take the fact I have’nt seen any of the Slayers for ong. Seems like a great series I’m missing out on.
