While I did like this episode...better to get that out of the way and not keep hyping Schneizel up, I guess. He's no Charles.

"Bitch don’t know about my coincidentally placed machine gun. Most ignoble death for an awesome character ever?"

Ideon or some other classic Tomino show should have some strong contenders, from what I understand.

To tell you the truth though, I'm less annoyed by her actual death than by her previous misuse. For an awesome pre-established character, she didn't really do much this season, all in all. Other than looking awesome, but you know...

"And I swear C.C. is the only actual female character in the show now."

That scene really did give her a much needed boost, considering how little attention she had been receiving for a long while.

"Legend of the Galactic Heroes this isn’t. Even lowly Bittenfeld could run circles around these guys while waving underwear in their faces."

Of course not, but even vague LOGH vibes are an improvement over R2's usual battles.

"Yeah, whatever, that makes sense."

It's all a bunch of (melo-)dramatic theatrics, really, but for some reason I didn't mind them.

The innocent little girl has a broken heart and feels guilty because of her lying brothers sins, which he supposedly committed in her name to boot, and realizes war -despite being a bad thing (tm)- is necessary to stop him. She probably doesn't really understand how said WMDs work either, much less how Schneizel is using them.

Or you can just assume his fabulous is immune to lie detectors, that works too.

So true on the last part.

It's been kind of funny on the transition on the scale of the conflicts.

Season one was all Japan. First half of R2 was Japan. Third quarter was China. And this last quarter is now the World Conflict.

(I could be wrong on this. It's just from memory)
