Yep, Saigar guy calls it quits. Easy to see why really, this whole thing had gotten out of hand. Here’s to all the memories, mostly of last year. I don’t really know if Saigar is going to continue on later or not, but if it does, then I’ll be right back here reporting on it. Tradition is tradition after all.

Saigar Update: Group G Round 3

Medicine Seller of Mononoke (344) beats Lelouch Lamperouge of Code Geass (173). Yay, Lelouch actually lost. I don’t care how popular Code Geass is, it takes a long stretch of the imagination to call Lelouch GAR at all. Like longcat long stretch. Much rather have the guy I’ve never heard of, but who everyone tells me is GAR, win.
It’s finally down to Group H, with Claire Stanfield vs. Ryuuguu Rena. I assume Claire is a girl, so let the catfighting begin.

Jeremiah (Orange) Gottwald of Code Geass (387) defeats Simon of Gurren Lagann (316). Yeah, that doesn’t feel right at all. The graph for the fight looks even more messed up. No matter how much people like Orange, I have a hard time seeing Simon legitimately losing to him. Saigar really is meaningless now, not that it had that much meaning in the first place I guess.

For Group G it’s Medicine Seller vs. Lelouch Lamperouge. Probably Lelouch here cause he’s insanely popular, but the unexpected seems to be happening a lot.

Saigar Update: Group E Round 3

Giovanni of Pokemon (395) beats Kittan of TTGL (295) with an even 100 votes. TTGL characters really aren’t doing so well now, mostly because of all the hate that TTGL gets these days, which still makes no sense. It’s anyone’s guess as to how long the meme status of Giovanni will carry him.
Tomorrow it’s Jeremiah vs. Simon. Will Simon befall the fate of his comrades, despite his positive popularity? We shall see.

Saigar Update: Group D Round 3 aka. A Hero Has Fallen

Farewell, my friends.

Lord Genome of TTGL (395) has defeated Kamina of TTGL (350). I need to take a cue from this year’s presidential race and stop declaring things inevitable. Kamina losing is as bad as Archer losing, but even Archer got farther. Genome is fine and everything, but there’s only one Kamina, only one man that GAR. It’s anybodies game from here.

For Group E it’s Kittan vs. Giovanni. Kittan has a chance to avenge his fallen comrade, but Giovanni has proven a strong force aka. meme in this tournament. Again, anything can happen.

Very little artwork of the non-porn variety for this guy, too.

Michishio Nagasumi of Seto no Hanayome (325) barely scratches by to beat Maebara Keiichi of Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (314). At least Keiichi is out now, though I have no idea of the GAR credentials of Nagasumi.

For Group D it’s Lord Genome vs. Kamina! An epic battle of manly good vs. manly evil! Little doubt as to who will be the victor here, but it’s still a fun match up.

Shark Fujishiro of Seto no Hanayome (372) trounces Kino of Kino’s Journey (189). Too bad for Kino here. Guess she just wasn’t able to jump the shark. Probably a good thing, though.

Next is Maebara Keiichi vs. Michishio Nagasumi. I’ve never liked Keiichi and still haven’t seen Seto no Hanayome, so this battle is pretty “meh” for me.
