Claymore - Teresa Side Story
For those of you still missing that angelic smile of Teresa, here’s a chance to see her in action again. It’s a recently published side story that shows one of her assignments before meeting Clare, this one to elminate the awakened number two. Not exactly exciting stuff, but it’s nice to see Teresa and her cocky attitude again. I’m still somewhat trying to respect the fact that Claymore is licensed, so just check Tokyo Toshokan for the scanlation.
Claymore Ch.73 Released
Since I’ve developed a rather nasty sinus cold this week, it’s hard to focus on anime and blogging when the pounding in your head just won’t stop. But I feel it is my duty to update at least every other day, so that’s why I’ve dragged myself to the computer to type this. Don’t you feel lucky? Claymore begins again its monthly release with the release of the newest chapter 73, which I swear was scanlated a hour after the raw came out. All I can say is thank god the miracle that is Claymore shines on my life again. Now it’s time to suffer the agony of waiting for monthly releases. Some nice Clarice and Miata development this chapter, along with explaining what Miata’s power is. I guess it’s easy to see why she can find Galatea now. Hopefully next chapter will show an epic battle between the three, with maybe Miria’s group finding out. Damn, that’s a long wait. Check the usual sources to find the scanlated chapter (since, you know, Claymore is licensed and everything).
P.S. Gekiganger 3 is hot-blooded awesomeness. Really needs a full retro series made for it, or at least a longer OVA.
Claymore Manga: Awesome, Claymore Anime: Meh
Lol spoilerz. Anyways, guess it’s time I finally talked about Claymore, seeing as how it’s like my second favorite manga and I spent most of last week reading it. I’ve been mostly mum on the anime, and there’s a good reason why: It’s boring as hell. Maybe this is because I’ve seen all this stuff before, since the anime is literally a scene by scene adaption. Or maybe it’s the bland colors and boring animation. Seriously, I hate the animation. The art in the manga early on was kind of sketchy, but it got real good and detailed later on. The anime has none of this. Epic scenes like Awakened Priscilla appearing in all her sexy glory are rendered mute by how un-detailed and QUALITY she looks. The lack of a full-body shot also didn’t help. Claymore, even though they’re monsters, actually look cute in the manga. In the anime, they just come off as psychotic chicks on too much steroids. Maybe it’s more “realistic,” but it’s also ugly. I want hot chicks killing monsters, dammit!
To new fans of Claymore, this probably doesn’t matter. The story still shines through and the action scenes are pretty good. Anything that gets more people reading Claymore is good I guess. I would still reccomend reading the manga asap, though. As for the shocking event of ep.8, Teresa’s death, all I can say is, “eh it’s alright.” I never found the event that particularly shocking, even in the manga. It was a pretty simple deduction to know she’d die. Teresa in the past, no Teresa in the present, “huh, I wonder why?” It was still pretty cool, though, mainly because it was like, “Oh, my arms are over there now. Why is my head rolling on the ground?” Naturally, this is pretty bad for Clare, but she’s alright later. I think she’s more gar than Teresa was, especially when she dresses as a man. And just to note (Huge Spoilerz) Flora and Jean’s deaths are ten times more shocking and emotional than Teresa’s. Oh well, I’ll continue watching the anime to see what happens, and for the music. Excellent soundtrack. Can’t wait for the OP and ED. Next time introduces Miria, my favorite character, and the sexiest Claymore in my opinion (unless loli tentacle demon Riful is more your style).
P.S. Neko Miko Reimu from the new IOSYS album is made of epic win and nekomimi mode moe. She even says nya over and over again in the refrain!
